Pete Jacobs breaks collarbone

Pete Jacobs is one of the up and coming stars of triathlon. This season had panned out well for Pete with the announcement that he had joined the powerful Abu Dhabi squad. This was an ideal sceanrio for Jacob as it will suit his talents.

This afternoon he dropped the bomb that he had joined a list of growing casualties this season.

"Have broken my collar bone. Locked up front wheel to avoid traffic & somersaulted. More to follow.. X- rays next.." Jacobs twittered. "First ever broken bone! It doesn't hurt much, nor did it earlier. Just uncomfortable & unmovable."

Jacobs has already had a second to Craig Alexander this season at the Australian Long Course Title in Huskisson and was lining up to race in Abu Dhabi later this month.

Jacobs now unfortunately joins the likes of Chrissie Wellington and Luke Bell on the injury list.

All the crew here at www.firstoffthebike.com wish Pete a speedy recovery.
