Dellow rules the Goldi

The Gold Coast Half Ironman is the third stop on the national tour. With three more races for the season the 'Goldi' is an ideal race to start your season if you are not so motivated over the winter break. Like most half Ironman and 70.3 races these days there is a usually quick field of professionals assembled. The Gold Coast race is usually popular with the Southern states who have been deprived of some good weather for a while and want to go North for the sun. This year's installment though was dominated by two athletes who tore the field up and grabed themselves a good domestic victory.

Controversy reigns at Duathlon World Titles

Duathletes are a quirky bunch. The pure duathlete stays to themselves and rarely crosses to the 'darkside' of triathlon. However many triathletes feel they have the bike, run combination that can win them a high spot or even a podium at the World Titles. And this was the themes of this weekend, especially at the pointty end of the fields. The fallout from a frenetic men's race was the controversial disqualification of the winner and the fortuitous handing of a World Title to the Great Britain's Paul Amey.

Xterra Oregon National trail running titles

BEND, OR (September 27, 2008) - Several hundred athletes from 21 states gathered at the upscale Old Mill District in Bend today for the fourth annual XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on an incredibly beautiful, crisp and clear morning along the Deschutes River. Outside Magazine called this the best trail running town in America, and some of the fastest runners from around the state of Oregon and across the nation came to put its reputation to the test.
